Toronto is the most multicultural city in the world by a few measures — more than half its residents were born outside Canada, and 200 languages are spoken daily. The food scene reflects this without trying. The CN Tower and the lakefront harbor are the photogenic things, but the city's actual self is in the neighborhoods, each of which carries an immigrant heritage as its identity: Kensington Market (Caribbean + Latin American + Portuguese, dense and walkable), Little Italy on College Street, Greektown along the Danforth, Chinatown around Spadina, Little India on Gerrard. Toronto Islands, fifteen minutes by ferry, are a car-free park with the best skyline view in the city.
