Kemer

Kemer is small, but it opens into something huge — a walkable Mediterranean town sitting between turquoise water, pine forest, ancient ruins, and the mountains of the Lycian coast. The town itself is easy: marina, beaches, cafés, and streets you can cross in minutes. But Kemer’s real magic is what begins around it. Then there is Tahtalı. Ride the cable car up to 2,365 meters and the Mediterranean suddenly drops far below you, blue and endless, while the air turns alpine and the mountains take over. In the right season, it can feel like you have left beach weather and reached the edge of the snow line in a matter of minutes. About an hour away, Olympos and Çıralı shift the mood again — bohemian beaches, treehouse stays, ancient ruins, and the eternal flames of the Chimera flickering from the mountainside after dark. Kemer is not just a beach stop. It is the doorway to the wilder Lycian coast — a place where Roman harbors, mountain peaks, forest trails, and fire-lit legends all sit within reach, still keeping a few secrets of their own.
